Title: PFOS/PFOA Mitigation Interim Storm Water Treatment
Location: Stewart ANGB, NY
Client: Bristol Environmental Solutions

Project dates: 2019 to present
Project Description: Treatment of PFAS in stormwater detention pond
System: 500 GPM treatment system consisting of hydrocyclone separation, dual stage sand filtration, dual stage bag filtration, and 4 parallel sets of GAC and IX resin vessels in a lead/lag configuration.
Services: System design, commissioning, and rental; troubleshooting; and field services
Key Challenges: Highly variable PFAS concentrations depending on precipitation events, sediment and biological fouling, discharge zone leads to recreational pond.
Outcome/Result: Continuing operations in substantive compliance with discharge permit.

Title: Temporary Mitigation of Drinking Water Supply Wells
Location: Mountain Home AFB, ID
Client: Tanaq Environmental

Project dates: 2018 to 2020
Project Description: Treatment of PFAS in drinking water
System: 1,500 GPM treatment system consisting of bag filtrations and 3 parallel sets of IX resin vessels in a lead/lag configuration
Services: System design, commissioning, and rental, initial 6 months O&M and client operator training, and continuing support and field services for the duration of the contract
Key Challenges: Treatment standard was PFOS and PFOA to be non-detect at a detection limit of 2 ng/L.
Outcome/Result: System successfully operated for two-year contract with no exceedances of the treatment standards.

Title: Peterson AFB Liquid Treatment System
Location: Peterson AFB, CO
Client: Tanaq Environmental

Project Dates: 2017 – 2020
Project Description: Treatment of PFAS in stormwater detention pond used for irrigation
System Design: Floating pump with suction strainer, solids separation, bag filtration, 4 parallel trains of GAC pretreatment and IX resin vessels in a lead/lag configuration.
Services: System design, commissioning, and rental, continuing support, and field services for the duration of the contract.
Key Challenges: PFAS comingled with hydrocarbons, VOCs, and SVOCs, detention pond contained small fish, water column contained a substantial amount of floating and semi-floating debris following high precipitation events, sediment and biological fouling, land application of treated water, occasional extended shutdowns during low precipitation periods
Outcome/Result: System performed to specification. Worked with client during commissioning and startup period to successfully address debris, sediment, and biological fouling concerns.

Title: Vapor Intrusion Mitigation System Installation and Testing
Location: Washington Navy Shipyard, Washington, D.C.
Client: CH2M HILL

Project Dates: 2021 - 2022
Project Description: Procure, install, and commission a subslab depressurization system to mitigate TCE vapor intrusion concerns for an existing facility.
System Design: Four horizontal slotted pipe suction nodes with a central manifold and blower, with three nodes designed for 30 cfm and the fourth node designed for 100 cfm. VFD-controlled regenerative blower moisture separator for condensate management and vapor-phase GAC treatment of vapors prior to discharge.
Services: Refine design, PLC programming, installation, commissioning, and verification testing.
Key Challenges: System was installed under an existing building on an urban military installation.
Outcome/Result: System performed to specification at commissioning with no issues.
